The foodie that he is, apart from meeting with the CM, the main agenda of filmmaker Onir on his Lucknow visit was food! Come evening, Onir and actor and producer Sanjay Suri headed to Sakhawat in Qaiserbagh to tuck in the non-veg delicacies. The duo feasted on all types of kebabs including galawati, shaami, seekh, kakori and kathi along with biryani and qorma. “If I can, I would probably starve myself before coming to Lucknow, because of the lovely food available here,” said Onir. “The nahari-kulcha, biryani and the malai-wali lassi is amazing. After coming here, I turn a glutton,” he added. Sanjay, meanwhile, fond of eating was also full of praise for the Lakhnawi khana. “My wife’s mother is from Lucknow, so when I told her that I was going to Sakhawat’s for dinner, she got very excited and told me she used to visit it as a kid. And I must say the food there was amazing. You know, initially after marriage when I used to have these galawati kebabs it used to feel a bit weird because being a Kashmiri I am more used to the boney meat dishes. Eating these melt-in-the-mouth kebabs was a new experience but a heavenly one, and now of course, I love them,” said Sanjay.
