Amongst quite a few films which would be hitting the screens this month, SORRY BHAI certainly stands out amidst the crowd. This Onir directed film comes with an impressive cast comprising of Sanjay Suri, Sharman Joshi, Chitrangda Singh, Shabana Azmi and Boman Irani and is all set to hit the screens on 28th November. Also, the film is a co–production of Sanjay and Onir.
Since the film tells the story about a man falling for his brother’s fiancee, how has Onir’s treatment to a subject as complex as this been?
‘Onir once again is dealing with a complicated situation in his film but he surely has handled it with ease while keeping the entertainment quotient high’, says Sanjay Suri who has worked with the film maker in MY BROTHER NIKHIL as well as BAS EK PAL’, ‘The film is bold yet funny. It’s traditional yet modern.’
Both MY BROTHER NIKHIL and BAS EK PAL had serious overtones to them. Has the tone of SORRY BHAI been mainly kept light hearted in light of the underlining subject being a little serious?
‘Yes, it’s light and breezy’, reveals Sanjay, ‘The writer has made sure that the screenplay remains progressive in thought and mature. Moreover, the director has enhanced the same with his actors and treatment. However, it is a matter of sense and sensibility. Every director brings his signature to his work and what he aims to do with a subject. This way, one can easily spot Onir’s style in SORRY BHAI as well.’
